Now he is thinking a sailboat with a cabin would meet all our needs - good grief!

Becky, Sometimes younger kids are less scared. I only remember one family camping trip, and that was the trip to NM and Colorado when I was about 4. Sometime after that, several of the neighborhood boys, my older brother and I were going to camp out in our backyard in that tent. All the boys said they had to go to the bathroom. I waited and waited, and they never came back. I finally went to the house to look for my brother, and he was in his bed! I was going to sleep in the tent anyway, by myself, but my mother wouldn't let me.

It always struck me as funny--of all the neighborhood kids, I was the only girl, and I was the only one who wasn't scared of anything.Becky Ghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10901212090175780900noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10997257.post-8022443249516038002009-06-01T11:52:41.170-05:002009-06-01T11:52:41.170-05:00"And then I think, 'But if we had a new tent, and ..."And then I think, 'But if we had a new tent, and maybe a new air mattress…'"

Heh. Hope springs eternal. There are a few other sayings that come to mind, but I'll just settle on "hope." :D

I've never camped with my grand-kids, but TSMP and I did quite a bit of that in our early days. It was good cheap entertainment and a VERY economical way to travel. It's also something that requires a bit of practice, too... but you know that!Buckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05319116022465066060noreply@blogger.com
