The past couple of weekends have been busy. In mid-October, we had a big family reunion in Wichita Falls. Twelve of the fifteen first cousins were there including some of the Ohio cousins. The Hawaii cousin was supposed to come, but her daughter just had a baby. The baby was perfect, but the mom had some problems with the epidural - she has no feeling in her legs and cannot walk. Crazy !
Quite a few of the next generation also came to the reunion. October is a great month for a reunion for us old folks, but a bit harder during the school year for the younger generation. The really great part is that everyone gets along so well. I'm not saying we are perfect and that there are not some problemas, but for the most part, we have a great time when we get together. My cousin, who is an excellent seamstress, made a Quilt of Valor for my uncle and his service in the military especially in Vietnam. She had a special presenter who explained the origin of the QoV and presented it to my uncle. It was a very moving moment.
We stayed at a campground on the Guadalupe. Saturday we went to the Texas Clay Festival. The temperature was probably in the low 90s and the place was packed. We had fun looking at the ceramic art and watching a demo or two, but we are old and the crowd and heat were wearing. So we loaded up the Casita and moved on. First we met up with an old high school buddy for a quick visit.
Then we drove to Bastrop to visit Jo and Gene. Sorry, I have no pictures :( It had been since before covid since we had seen them. Three of their grown children dropped by to meet us. Jo fixed some wonderful meals. It was really good catching up and telling old stories.

I loved your get away to Texas since we were included. I cannot say how much that meant to us!!!! Your casita is so cute and your friendship is so special.
Happy you are busy wish you the best for the upcoming shows. I finally worked on a couple of pastels as you know. Always good.
Thanks for the post and again for the visit!!!
Glad you finally posted again! That is scary about your relative in Hawaii with the epidural. I hope she gets better soon.
So this was the Barker reunion? Was the quilt for your Uncle Bob? It looks and sounds like it was a fantastic time.
I have never heard of a clay festival. What a good idea! Yeah, it was still too hot at that point.
How great that you also got to go to Bastrop and see Jo!
