How Old Are You, Little Girl?

Jesse did some kayaking with Lindsay on Friday, which was a pretty nice day. She posted photos on her blog. She also posted the last of her Scotland series. For their next adventure, she and Toby are considering taking a sailing class in Norman. She emailed a sailing organization for details on the class. When she did not get a prompt reply, she called the instructor. She said he sounded very gruff. I guess because her voice is so small, he wanted to know how old she was. She thought that was pretty funny. Did he think a little girl was arranging a sailing class for herself and her father?

I get that too! Not on the phone but in person.

If there is anything inappropriate that she can't handle or that continues.... please tell us. We don't allow that nonsense from angels or soldiers.

Laurie, I deleted part of my post in case it sounded like I was complaining about SA. I love Soldiers' Angels and did not mean to make it seem that I had a gripe with them. My point had to do with how people treat others according to their age. Gosh, sometimes I write myself into a corner.

I had a similar experience when I was 22. I've always looked much younger than I am. When I was a freshman in college, everyone who didn't know me would ask me who I was visiting. They all thought I was someone's kid sister.

Anyway, when I was 22, I took my dog into the vet to get him treated for heartworms. The people who had him before me didn't have him on any preventative. Anyway, the vet told me to talk it over with my parents and see what they said. I replied that I didn't need to talk it over with them. I was an adult, it was my dog, and my money.

Of course, now that I'm 40 something, I appreciate looking young!
