Rubber Ball Come Bouncing Back to Me

My allergies kicked in big time yesterday. My nose is like a red leather ball that has seen better days. Although I took the drugs that usually give me relief, they did not even touch this attack. My nose is stopped up (When I was a kid I thought it was "stomped up" which may be more appropriate) and yet I have drainage down my throat and trickling out of the one nostril that can get air. My lips are swollen and chapped, and strangely enough when I touch them, I can barely feel them. My head is heavy and my ears are going to explode. If I could scratch my teeth with my tongue, I would. I did not sleep much last night. I would go back to bed, but when I recline, my nose completely shuts down. I would like to be blogging something more happy and exciting, but this is overwhelming. If you need me for anything, just follow the trail of nasty, used Kleenexes. Pray for me.

I have been hearing on the news that this is one of the worst "ragweed" years ever. A good freeze would be best...clean out your freezer and go sit in it!!!! Poor thing!!!

Sorry to hear about your allergies, Lou. Sounds miserable!! I, too, heard ragweed is really bad right now. I'll be praying for you.

In the mean time drink lots of water try to rest in your recliner...and seriously...DON'T put anymore clothes out to dry on the line. You just bring those lovely sheets that blew in the wind sprinkled with "allergy goodies" into the house to lay your pretty little head on. Well, it just ain't good fer ya!!

Sounds horrible! Hope they go away soon! Things must be really bad this year. I don't even HAVE allergies and my nose is running and itchy throat and eyes for about a month now.

Oh sister, I know exactly what you are going through! I've been there so many times. Praying that what's got you all stirred up will settle down soon.

I always suffer during Ragweed season. At times I can't even see. I do so dislike the southern states for their allergens.

Wash your hair before you go to bed on clean sheets dried in the dryer and keep the windows closed. I read it in the Star Telegram, I think.

Consider yourself nagged by another mom. ha

Hope you feel better. Take a nice steamy shower when you wash your hair. The steam clears your sinuses, etc. :) You can wash your face several times a day and wash your eyes with eyewash, sanitized water, not medicated stuff. Helps me. I'm praying.
