Morning Cleaning

The Painted Ladies are coming to my house today to paint. In preparation for them, I vacuumed the carpet and mopped the tile and did other major cleaning projects. My swifter mop batteries were dead - so I improvised and poured out some other floor cleaner as I mopped. It was a mistake. It left the floor slightly greasy feeling - not to mention everything stuck to it and left tracks. I text (texted?) Jesse to bring me batteries from town, but she did not (kind of an Emma story). This morning I am planning on robbing some batteries from other battery operated appliances and trying the mop again. I will have to vacuum again thanks to my dog who brought his dog food into the living room to eat on the carpet. Why did I bother cleaning yesterday? And why didn't the cleaning fairy come last night? And why the heck do they put batteries in a mop?

Funny:
While driving to town yesterday, I called Toby to discuss where to meet for lunch. Toby said something, but I totally missed it. I explained, "Sorry dear, but I was distracted. You know that tower they are building out here? Well, there was a construction worker without a shirt. And he had a dark tan and was wearing tan pants, which made it look like he was naked. So I had to look again." Toby said, "You were looking at a naked guy?" Me, "Well yeah! Naked guy in a hard hat! Who wouldn’t look? Now what were you saying?" Truly it was not lust, but simple curiosity.

Yeah, right! I used to say something similar when I got caught looking at the odd cutie (I NEVER looked at the even ones). These days Lucy don't need to do no s'plainin', though. But the horse has left the barn in other ways, too, irony of ironies.

And why DO they put batteries in a mop? Does it have a headlight, or something?

My capcha word: laffix. Heh.

If that cleaning fairy ever shows up, be sure to send her over my way next.

Funny story about the naked guy in the hard hat. I had one similar at work a couple of weeks ago. A guy had a light tan shirt on, and walking across the parking lot in the early morning light, I saw him nd thought, "Why is Tony at work without a shirt on?"

Buck, it really was curiosity. When you think you see something odd or out of place, you do another look without thinking about what you are really looking at.

AirmanMom, I'm glad to know you would look too.

Becky, and it as just curiosity and wonder that made you look = right?

Thank you for your kind comments on my blog. We had the "last supper" with James last weekend---we made a big deal of it, anyway. Last one to leave the nest, but he has been coming home on weekends, as thankfully, Amber lives in our area. But, he is so in love, it is like he is floating...

Right. I was wondering why he would commit such a safety violation as coming to work shirtless would be. Nothing more.

I would have looked also. Chara had a tan swimsuit a few years back, Randy recieved a report from someone that his daughter was swimming naked in our pond that was by the road. She was MORTIFIED !!!!

Diva, Sound like the time Jesse was picking plums and took her shirt off to get a tan. I'm sure we should not let those two run together.
