She Who Lies Down with Dogs...

We have been working hard on the house, and my body hurts. Wed and Thursday we worked until we could not see to hit a nail, but we got the decking and paper on the roof. The wind was howling from the southeast making things pretty interesting up on the roof – not to mention dang cold. Saturday morning turned out beautiful. Our friends showed up to help finish the siding. Jesse, Lindz, and I did fire-block – see Jesse’s blog for photos. We were all finished with the siding and block by lunchtime. Janice, Lindz’ mom, showed up with burgers. We fed everyone and sent them on their way. Then Toby, Jes, and I started wrapping the house in this perma-wrap stuff. It will keep out the weather until we get windows and doors in place. Notice the beautiful sky. The day was warm, and we were able to work in our T-shirts. The dogs loved the sunshine, too.

Good News/Bad News:
Uncle Bob and family are coming to WF tomorrow. His mother-in-law, Mrs. Guyton, passed away and will be buried in WF. Maw-Maw was 90 years old, and had lived a good life. Being the grandmother of my cousins, I spent lots of time at her house when we were young. I don’t ever remember anything negative about her. She let us play and romp and have a big time. As a kid, I remember thinking she sure was young and pretty to be a grandmother. And she never seemed to change through the years. It will be good to see Uncle Bob and my cousins – they are a loving, fun group. My heart goes out to them for their loss.

My condolences to you and your Uncle Bob, Lou.

Neat pics, as ever... and it sure looks like you're making good progress. I'm glad the WX broke for ya.

Buck,
I don't know if the WX broke. It rained last night and it is cold today. But the trees are beginning to bud and the skunks are dead on the road.

It's cold here, too. And it rained like that ol' sayin' about cows and flat rocks last night. No outdoor Happy Hour today!

Buck, I'm not sure I have ever heard that ol' sayin' but I get your point.

My sympathy to your family.

Your house is coming along so well. Wow. You need Traumel for your sore muscles. :)
