Change Is in the Air

We have had a couple of cooler days. I guess mid-nineties is much better than 100+ temps. Still, I am ready for fall. August is hard on me. Change is in the air. Today I painted with the Ladies. I did these three small paintings. I did the lemons first - not too exciting. So I tried the cow - better maybe. Then I made the Ladies do a fast and simple painting - choosing an easy flower. The object of this game was to paint fast, drop in color, and let things happen. They did some nice work.

I told the ladies that I was going to take a sabbatical from painting with them. They took it well. I need to focus on my students and my home. I need to get my priorities right. Painting with the ladies may not be the right thing to give up, but it is where I am starting. Sometimes I get too strung out with all my commitments, and I do not do well at the things I do. I want to be a better teacher this year. I want to continue my ASL class. If these changes do not make good in my life, then I may have to give up blogging. That would be tough, but it is time for change.

Giving up the Ladies will be interesting, a bit painful, but we will see how it all turns out. I will be able to give up the Art Guild soon - it is definitely a drag on my life.

I agree on the Art Guild. Try that first, your life should calm down a lot. It sure helped me. You use too much of your creative talent in helping others and have none left for yourself and what you want to do.

Take care of yourself first and foremost!! (Sadly we can get by .. but wouldn't want to. Hugs.)

I forgot to say: Awww, love the cow!

Thanks, Jo, the cow was fun, but I used white crayola for the whiskers - a mistake. I should have just painted around them.

Awww Lou -I hope you continue to use your painting talent to give you some peace and calm your mind. Don't deny yourself that gift that you have... I know about overwhelming commitments and trying to find a way out of some of them. We are in the same boat right now - and there isn't much either The Oracle or I is willing to give up. Which is not good....

The Sunflower is freakin' gorgeous!!!
