It is early in the morning and no one else is up yet. I made the coffee for the sleepy heads - still, they have not moved. We will be stirring soon, 'cause today we are going to WF - tomorrow is the HHH. I am excited - like a little girl on Christmas morning. What is wrong with me?
Yesterday, Jesse took photos of our pottery. Of course she made the photos very artsy and fun, but that was only half the fun. In coming up with a way to photograph the pots, she had this other idea - to set them up like the scene in Princes Bride. The idea blossomed into something crazy. She had me put on a red shirt (Buttercup wears red in this scene) and pose with the pots. Then we decided we could have the dogs play the other parts - things got out of hand at this point. We gathered costumes for the dogs, wine glass and bottle, table cloth, etc for the scene. I stuffed my pockets full of dog treats to entice the dogs to go along with our plan. If you remember the scene where Buttercup is blindfolded while the Sicilian and The Dread Pirate Roberts drink poisoned wine, you will understand the plan. I was to be Buttercup, Ranger (the rat terrier) was the Sicilian, and Jack (the red healer) was Wesley, the Dread Pirate Roberts. We tried Zoe (our Great Dane) as Roberts, but she looked more like Andre the Giant. We set our props in the pasture and started taking photos...well, when Jesse was not wiping tears of laughter out of her eyes or being knocked over by Zoe. The photos were hilarious. I look rather stupid in all of them, but the best photo is of Ranger - the Scillian sitting in my lap, Jack (our red healer) stealing the dog treat since I was blindfolded, and Zoe's big dog lips hanging in front of Jesse's camera as if she were checking to see what Jes was doing. In the end, Jack made the best Dread Pirate Roberts - he will do anything for a dog treat. His mask was great! Zoe was the best behaved, but her black mask did not show on her black fur. I only wish I could sneak into Jesse's room to get the photos for you this morning. But it is early and everyone is asleep as I tell this tale on Jes. UPDATE: I did get the photos. Jesse did post more on her blog.
Do check out our pottery and her photos, but come back later for the Princes Bride pics. In the meantime, we will be at the HHH and I will take photos myself.

I'm mostly in the dark on this post, what with never having seen The Princess Bride. But I DO like the photos, they hit me right in my bizarre spot. ;-)
Have fun this weekend and ride safe.
Definitely a unique perspective. And I have seen the Princess Bride. Grandchildren. Mostly girls. The learned it from their mothers. My daughters and daughters in law, that is.
ORPO, thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment. My grand-daughters love Princes Bride, but the movie is so old, that I remember watching it when my kids were younger - teen-agers actually.
Buck, Since you are a man of knowledge, you have to see this movie sometime, because it is one of the most quoted movies of all time.
Hmmm, I'm in the same boat as Buck. Photos are fun. Looks like you all had fun in the process.
We missed a lot of movies and such when we were in South America. Jennie and Larry especially.
.... I love that movie!....
Eric
Jo, do watch it if you get a chance.
Eric, me too!
Great photos! I see you enjoy the process of photographing very much.
