Fun, Not Fun

Marathon Fotos sent our HHH pics via email yesterday. I’m grinnin’ like a possum in every one of them – a bit like a slow-witted fool. Jesse said, "Looks like you had a good time." I did have a good time. If it is not fun, I won’t do it, and the HHH was lots of fun this year. Since I have lost some weight, I was hoping to look thinner in the photos – not. Guess I’ll keep up the diet.

Speaking of fun, I attended an art guild meeting last night, and it was not fun. Man o man, I hate those meetings. I tried not to whine when I got home so as not to spoil Toby’s evening. But I think I’m on my last leg with the guild. Remind me of that if I start thinking of doing this again. I plan on putting on the best art show I can and then headin’ to the hills when it is over.

We have had some wonderful rains this week. Although they cool things off, it sure is humid when the sun comes out. I’m not complaining, but come on fall! I’m looking forward to our trip to Niagara later this month – I hear the September temps are much cooler there than here in OK. It reminds me of spending September in Calgary a few years ago (see my archives - Sept 2007 for photos). In fact, I’ve had a hankerin’ to go back to that part of Canada sometime. Maybe I’m just missing the mountains – fall being my favorite time of the year there. I want to smell the fall air, the coolness, the pines, etc. I want to see the colors and feel the breeze through the trees. I want to wake up in the morning to frost on the windows. Maybe I have Rocky Mountain Fever.

I had a great idea on the art show. Instead of doing wine, have me and Big Al do fancy coffee/espresso. It's still sophisticated, but less of a liability.

Bo, I like that idea.

You will like Niagara. It is beautiful around there. Should be perfect weather.

I like the expresso idea, too. I make sangria with apple cider instead of wine. By taste you don't miss the wine.

Good luck with the art show. I don't have any more responsibilities with the art groups and it feels so good! It is fun and good to be with artists, but 10 percent of the folks work and after a while we burn out or at least get stale.

Good job on the diet. Joanna just went to drinking water instead of soda or any other beverage and taking home half of her restaurant meals for lunch next day. She is down 60 # in two years. Amazing.

Also good photos! I wondered how they did that. Larry takes photos at marathons all the time for part of his work and just turns in the disk. I see they use face recognition now. Cool. Gene's iPhoto does that on his MacBookPro. Pretty nifty. You do look happy. :)

Ah, no frost here yet although it was 31 a couple of days ago early morning. :)

You Hotte, you! Marathon sure makes ya click a lot to look at the pics, don't they?

re: Niagara WX. It's a crap-shoot in September. Once in a while that part o' Noo Yawk gets a late season heat wave and those can be brutal. Ask me how I know... ;-)
