Jo the Gypsy
My good friend Jo Castillo, who is an artist and blogger, lost her home in Bastrop, TX, to the wild fires burning everything in sight. Fortunately, she and her husband Gene were in Angel Fire, NM, for a few months renting a condo to escape the Texas heat. That means they do have clothes, computers, art stuff, etc. But as she said, they are now gypsies. My heart goes out to the people in Bastrop area who have lost their homes in such a devastating fire. Some of Jo's neighbors only had minutes to grab things before they were evacuated. Jo gives some addresses in a previous post of places to send money or aid to help others who have lost everything.

Dang, that sucks. One saving grace, it was STUFF and stuff can be replaced. Glad Jo wasn't there.
How sad.
Ah, Lou. Thanks for the note and kind words. Your friendship has meant so much to us. We have a place to stay while we work out what to do. There won't be anyplace near "home" with 1400 homes gone. Don't want to live in Austin, so we shall see.
Interesting that school has started for you, have fun with that.
Glad the house is about done in case we show up there. Gene said, "I've done that!" When I read about you working on the light switches.
Thanks again for the thoughts and prayers.
Living in New Orleans, the wildfire disaster breaks my heart.
