Refreshing Rain.

It rained here all day yesterday. It was raining on me when I drove to WF at the crack of dawn, and it was still raining last night - a slow steady rain. Puhfect! Jesse and I went to a workshop at Midwestern State University put on by a visiting artist from Taos, NM. The artists, Amy Cordova, is very Taosy. She paints in a Mexican folk style and also does illustrating for children's books.

Although she did not grow up in Taos, her "father's family had been there for three hundred years." She did not have much of an accent, but now and then she fell in to the Taos sing-song way of speaking. She read one of her children's books called "Abuelita's Heart" and it so reminded me of Taos. Both Jesse and I were lulled like little children while Amy read - like a refreshing rain.

Ms. Cordova also did a bit of a workshop teaching us to paint acrylic on glass. Sitting next to Jesse and meeting her friends was fun. The workshop was fun - simple, but fun. Today, we finish our glass paintings. I will take more photos of the work and post them. Tonight is the Jesse's student art show along with art from the visiting artists. I will take lots of photos.

So glad you are finally getting some rain! It's been so dry in that part of the country.

Becky, we needed it badly and I'm thankful.

Buck, She really was a sweet lady, but yeah, Taosy.
