When you wing the weekend, you never know how it will all turn out. Our one big plan was to take the GGs to breakfast on Saturday morning and give Bo and Sara a bit of time to themselves - kind of a Mother's Day gift. We took the GGs to Golden Corral - big mistake. It was difficult to keep them corralled at the Corral. We spent more time walking around getting food than we did eating it. I hate buffets, because you feel like you need to eat your money's worth, but the food is not that good. The good news is that we did not eat our money's worth - wait, is that good news? It was some nasty food. I spent most of my time fighting with GBN2. Toby says it is because we are so much alike - just lookin' for a fight.
By the time we took the GGs home and then went home ourselves, we were bushed. Yep, we took a little nap. It is good to be able to do whatever you want to do sometimes. But by the time we got up, we did not have enough time to start working on the bathroom tile before we had to get ready and go to homeschool graduation. We had a few minutes to kick around before getting dressed up for graduation, but not enough time to do any serious work. Graduation was at 2:12 (clever kids) in town. Graduations are never exciting or very interesting, but they are important. Homeschool graduations always take a while since each parent gets to speak as they present their child with a diploma. It was pretty boring for most of us, because the parents did not speak into the mic. You know the parents are talking, but you can't hear a word they say. Makes me crazy! But I had some special girls graduating and it was important to be there.
After graduation, we went with another couple to a new restaurant called The Catch. It is a catfish buffet - all you can eat for 15 bucks a person. Yikes! It should have been called "The Deadliest Catch." Once again, it was an expensive buffet, where you felt like you had to get your money's worth, but the food was nasty. Well, they did have some good shrimp. And I ate my 15 dollars worth of fried shrimp, which was way too much grease. I was sick the rest of the weekend.
Sunday I did not eat breakfast or lunch - still feeling stuffed from my two buffets on Saturday. We went to WF to see our mothers. Mine had just returned from a two week trip through the South and up to Myrtle Beach. It was good that she is back to taking trips and feeling better. She had plans to eat supper with my brother, so we picked up Toby's mom and went to Olive Garden. Jesse joined us - having just driven in from her trip to Austin. It was a nice visit with both Mom's and Jes.
Turns out Mom had an eye doctor appointment on Monday. Since we had some questions about medications and their side effects, I went back to WF on Monday. All was good with the doctor, and Mom and I did a bit of shopping - including picking out new eye glasses for her. She told the eye doctor that she loses her glasses about every three months. He said she was an optometrist's dream.
When I got home Monday afternoon, Toby and I finished the tile in the bathroom. It was not a lot of tile work, but it was lots of odd cuts - time consuming. The GGs came by after supper and harassed the chickens and the cat. I had a few fights with GBN2 - as usual. Toby and Bo roasted coffee beans. Good grief. I was worn out last night and still not quite back on my feed.
Today, I have no plans. No tutoring. No art classes. No moms. No GGs. What will I do with myself? Heh-heh!
