Midwestern State University had their big end of the year student art show opening Friday night. Of course, we were there. I would say it was a safe guess that Jesse had more art in the show than any other individual student. Students submitted their art for different categories - some were accepted and some rejected. Jesse had several of her mugs in the show. She had one photograph, one drawing, one sculpture, and several group projects. Monetary awards were given out during the evening.
Jesse got an award for this drawing - titled Doomsday.
Not only did she get a prize for this sculpture, she sold it too. Selling it was a rather happy/sad thang. She didn't really expect it to sell, and the price was rather cheap. It was also a fun piece that we hated to see go. But money is always good. It is the tortoise morphing in to the hare.
This was the group effort that won an award - Jesse pointing to her panel.
Here are the other two group paintings. On the Ken dolls, she did upper left and lower right panels. On the worms, she did far right middle and lower panels.
She also received a nice scholarship and lots of praise from her professors. Toby and I were very proud of her.

Congratulations to Jesse! She is one talented woman. Excuse me-- grown ass woman.
You got that right!
MOST excellent! Wow. Just WOW!
Thanks, Buck. It was most fun watching her do well and see her with her fellow artists. A hero day.
Ah, like mother like daughter. What a great evening. Congratulations to Jesse!!! The sculpture is such a cool idea and looks just great. I can see why it sold.
Yeah, I just wished that I looked so cute in a short dress.
Wow, that tortoise morphing into a hare is really neat. She's got a nice talent there.
Yes, she does. Must get it from her mom.
