Summer Art 1
My blog buddy, Jo, always inspires me with her art. I wanna be more like her, although we could be long lost sisters as it is, but I want to do my art on a more regular basis - like her. A few years ago, I did a painting a week. Maybe I will try that again, sort of. I think this summer I will try to do and post more art - on a daily basis - yikes! The art could be anything from a drawing or a painting to a photograph or some project that requires creativity around here. We will see how it goes. I'm going to give it a try, but not make any promises.
With the longer days, you'd think I would have plenty of time to get some art done. Since I'm not doing my art classes, you'd think I had more time for myself. The truth is that summer does get busy. For some reason, Toby thinks if it stays light until 9 PM, you ought to be working until 9 PM. Last night, he brought home a new/old chicken coop. Unloading it was not a problem other than the dust. Then we worked in the barn - I'd try to explain what we did, but it was kind of wild and consisted of a some sort of heavy pulley thangie hung from the rafters and chained to the scissor lift. We lowered the lift, which has been stuck in full lift and broke down for years. It was a dirty, dangerous job. I sneezed my head off and my nose was totally stopped up by the time we came in. Not pleasant work, but it was good that we gotter' done.
My first Summer Art is a watercolor. I stole this photo from a friend's FB page. It is Darcy's daughter. It is not the first photo I've stolen. Anytime I see something paintable, I copy it to my "Possible Art" file. Anyway, if it is out on the Net, it seems fair game. If someone has a problem with this, let me know. Darcy's daughter seemed an appropriate subject for my first Summer Art project.
