Chief Bottle Washer and Capper

I've been promoted (or demoted depending on your outlook) to chief bottle washer - literally.  As you know, Toby has been brewing beer. He is working on a batch that should be ready for Christmas. Yesterday, he told me that we needed to bottle the Christmas batch.  I usually say, "That's nice." and let him do his thang.  You also know that we have to buy beer, drink it, and save the bottles so that we can make more beer.  It is a racket.  For those of you who don't know, that was a pun - racket as in element of organized crime or as in racking beer.  Anyway, he had saved up and washed lots of bottles, but he likes to get the labels off and run the bottles through the dishwasher.  So yesterday, out of the goodness of my heart, I soaked bottles, scraped labels, and loaded them up in the dishwasher.  I can now tell you which beer labels come off easily and which do not come off at all.  I'm sure that is some handy knowledge to someone. When Toby got home, he was pleased to see that the bottling was ahead of schedule.  He was also glad that dinner was ready - pulled pork, papitos, and frijoles refritos (why is that spelled with an e and not an i ?) and of course pico de gallo. Good supper!  Good bottle washer! Did I mention that I also capped the beer while he filled the bottles?  Does that make me a capper, too.

Tonight we are headed to WF to attend an art show at MSU.  Jesse is showing a painting and some pottery.  I'll take pics.  You may remember last year's show when she dressed in her grandma's hot pants suit from the early 70's.  It was a nice costume, but the shoes were killers.  She started to dress 80's this year with a knock-out off the shoulder dress and big hair, but decided to go comfy instead - as a gypsy.  I'll take pics.  Should be fun.

What's a papito? I googled "papitos" and got three pages of nothing but restaurant names before I quit... who knew there were THAT many?

That's one of my favorite photos of Jesse. Yer girl is VERY photogenic.

You made me sooooo hungry. We have to go to Elgin now to try a new Mexican, no a new restaurant, Mexican grill. (That sounded like New Mexican food and none of that except in New Mexico.) Seafood it says. Hmmmm. Bet they won't have papitos, either, but hope it is good.

Great photo of Jesse and ideas for dressing up. Hope she does well in the show.

That does sound like a good dinner. The plant fed us pulled pork Thursday, and I had enough leftover on my plate to make two more meals.

This year, for Halloween, I'm dressing as an adult with dignity. That commercial cracked me up the fist time I saw it.

Papitos are little potatoes spiced up. I think I spelled it right, but you know me.

She is photogenic - unlike her mother.

Mexican seafood is good too - reminds me of our McAllen days.

The show was fun; I'll get something posted soon.

It was actually Mary Nell's outfit, but Bonnie would have been hot in it!

Ah! Grandma was a bit shy! You need to wear the hot pants without the split dress :-)

I bet no one would be looking at the art...

The hot pants are not any shorter than what girls wear these days, but the big hair is eye-catching.
