Busy Season

Driving home this afternoon in the drizzling rain, the cold temperatures, and overcast skies, I was reminded of our time in Scotland. Possibly the short daylight hours this time of year was also a reminder.  I loved our time in Scotland - drizzle, cold, darkness, and all.

After my tutoring this morning, I went over to check on the new baby.  He is home from the hospital, and his biliruvin numbers are good.  My DIL is having some issues and is not feeling well.  The other grandmother was already there helping out around the house.  I did my part by putting GBN3 up on my shelf (built in pillows) where he slept for a couple of hours. His parents went off to their room and napped, too. It was a nice afternoon.

The morning had not started so well. I figured out pretty early this morning that we had no water.  After doing some looking around, I knew we had a leak somewhere. So, I turned the water off at the meter and went looking for the leak. It wasn't difficult to locate - the small pond behind the house was a dead giveaway.  Of course, Toby is in Houston.  I don't usually mention when he is going out of town - at least until he is home.  He will be home anytime now - to no water.  I know what we will be doing tomorrow - ditch digging.

It has been quite a week here while Toby was gone.  Having the GGs by myself was, well, tiring.  Yesterday after I delivered the GGs to their parents, I drove to WF to take Mom to the eye doctor. All went well there. Jesse came home last night after her last final. It is good to have her home, although I doubt she stays here much.  She has plans on staying and working in OKC as well as a ski trip planned. Ah, to be young again!

When Toby is going to be away, I have these expectations: I will get things done that I want to get done. I expect to do better on my diet.  I will have lots of quiet time or painting time.  Well, those plans bit the dust. It was a good week. I enjoyed my GGs and GB, but I'm ready for some downtime. I guess tis not the season. Even the dog is demanding to sit in my lap right now.

Wow... y'all seem to have as many water problems in winter as I did when I was living in El Casa Móvil De Pennington. NOT fun. At ALL.

Good luck today.

We spent our honeymoon in Scotland so I will always have fond memories in spite of the weather.

Get some rest! I have some Trader Joe's red wine with your name on it. I'll bring it to church with me as soon as we get over being sick. It's slow go.

Fixing the leak was literally a pain in the butt this time. Maybe I will blog about it. NOT fun at all other than spending time with Jesse and Toby.

Trader Joe's red wine, is that Two Buck Chuck's? Sorry for the water problems. We got electric fireplaces and electric heat. I'm waiting for no power! Yikes! Maybe get a gas fireplace or generator next year. Sigh.....

I don't know anything about the Trader Joe's wine, but Mrs. G has good taste.
