Tuesday was my last day of regular art classes for the summer. I will continue to have art through the summer, but on a more for fun basis rather than learning time. My youngest and cutest art student finished her piece with an hour to go, so we worked on some little watercolor cards. We painted these little flowers. I love painting quick and easy things. It gives a sense of satisfaction. Although, I have been craving a big loose painting...maybe later this summer. I am also working on a pastel portrait, but it was not ready to show. Does this mean my muse is back? No, but I'm working on it.
The wind has been blowing like a son-of-a-gun, and I am a bit tired of it. We made national news with our 70 mph straight winds and other storms last night. Fortunately, Duncan only got the wind and not the hail. Lawton had power lines and poles down due to wind. Here at the Lazy B, I will need to go find the patio furniture today. More storms are in the forecast this afternoon. sigh.

Not that it matters... but I really like the red painting best. Poppies?
The Muse cartoon was pretty funny. Mebbe MY Muse is a skinny old guy swilling beer. And smokin' a cigar.
My art/blog buddy, Jo, posted that cartoon on her blog. I told her that Toby must be my muse.
I like the top one with reds and yellows. Here's my thought, it must be very difficult to stop, and that painting, being more minamalist is a perfect example of stopping at the right time. More would not be better. While the second stands on its own, and if you never saw the first would be perfect, but I've seen the first and I like the colors and sharper edges. Both would be excellent hanging in the den, or selling them to Hallmark (smile). ta, ta...
Thanks, Stefan. It is hard to know when to stop. I've overworked more than a few paintings.
