Painful

While I was down in South Texas with my cousins, I did something really stupid, and I ended up with a pulled/torn hamstring. It is very painful. Doing all according to the Internet and a physical therapist friend, I have been icing, compressing, elevating, and resting my leg. This all worked well. Then yesterday I overdid it a bit, and today I am very sore. Toby did not think I could sit through church in the hard chairs. Even with a pillow it could be difficult. So I have built my nest in the recliner and I'm snuggled in it on this rainy Sunday. I think I need some sympathy.

We spent Saturday in WF looking at assisted living places for Toby's mom - another painful process. It is more painful for Toby than for me, but definitely not fun for anyone.  There are some very nice places out there, but the decision making is not easy. My own family will be facing these same decisions soon. I don't look forward to it.

We are planning a trip this summer to Peru, trying to get everything booked. That is not easy either. In fact, it is like herding cats.

I definitely need some sympathy today.

Were you "leg wrestling" kiddo? In any event, I'm sure Toby will take good care of you! Take it easy, enjoy the rain, take a nap and just be lazy today!

Isn't Peru going to be winter this (our) summer? I hope you bring your snow shoes, ha.

Temps in OK in June will be in the 90s or 100s. I think Peru will be just right. Besides, my hot flashes will keep me warm in the Peru mountains.

I don't want to talk about it. Just give sympathy.

So sorry for your hamstring problems. I hate to tell you but my knee took a year to be completely well and my shoulder I hurt last September seems to be taking the same. Please take care and do as the doctor says! Enjoy your down time.

On the coast in Peru is the Atacama Desert where it never rains. It stays damp right in Lima though so the 55 degrees or so will feel cool. Then in the mountains, just cool at night and in the shade. Warm in the sun. You will end up with some very nice alpaca sweaters! And a sunburn. :)

We booked a tour to hike/bike/trek to Machu Picchu. I just want to be able to walk by then. I am pretty excited about the trip, but bastante bumbed about the leg.

You definitely have my sympathy! Been there -- owwwwie! Peru sounds fabulous, cat-herding and all!

Take it easy, girl.

Thanks Moogie. I'm reclining as much as possible.

It doesn't look that far from the airport as the bird flies, but it looks like the road has a few twists in it. I might need some oxygen if I rode my bike up that high :-)

The bike ride is all down hill. I can handle that.
