Painting of the Week

Another Italy painting! It was storming outside yesterday. Only two girls braved the weather and came to art. Sometimes just having a few girls here is really nice, but I probably talk too much and do not get much painting done. This little painting is a bit sloppy and could use more work. Then again, it may just be loose. Conversation was good and art was enjoyable.

Funny you would mention your art students today. I was just thinking about the Art Show...or lack thereof...and wondered about you doing one at the church once a year (much like a piano recital or something). It's snack menu probably couldn't live up to the "eats" that the other place did, but I bet volunteers would provide food and drink for those that came to cheer on the students and view their work. Judging their work might be a little more difficult...but hey...maybe you could do something with this bare bones idea or maybe you could just file it in the round file!

I like the idea of an art show at the church. I have thought about it before, and I think it would be a good idea. I will work on it.

There are very few public laundromats in Italy - something that was puzzling. I asked an Italian lady about it. She said that Italians were "a very private people". I teased the lady about how Italians hang their clothes out on the line for everyone to see. She thought that was funny. I think the lack of laundromats in Italy is why Italians live longer - that and pasta.

I'll buy that...if you add Chianti! :-)
