Lost

Now and then I misplace something, but I rarely lose things. I still have the first earrings that I ever bought. Certainly, I am not neat-freak, and I am not "Miss Organized, " but I usually know where things are. That is a mother's job - to know where things are. Lately, I have lost three pairs of my reading glasses. Yes, I have lots laying around for when I need them, but now three are missing. Three! How could that be? Is my dog carrying them off and hiding them? Did someone come in while I was not looking and take them? I have looked in the usual places, and I have looked in the unusual places (well, not the freezer) all to no avail. It is making me crazy and cranky. If anyone has a clue where they are, please speak up. And no, they are not on my head.

You better go look in the freezer. See, I keep telling you we are related!

I really don't have them. I have lost a few pair of Randy's, but I didn't take yours.

These kind of things are happening to me also. It makes me crazy.

Maybe Zoe is using them like a magnifying glass to burn the red ants, that's what i'd do with'em...i'd check with her.

Jo, I may need to look in the freezer. Lord knows I have looked every where else.

Piper, Toby has already accused Zoe of eating one of his pepper plants. I don't think she did it because she would not just eat the top out of the plant, but would have pulled the whole thing up. Toby said he was going to get a magnifying glass to check the teeth marks on the plant. If they match the ones on his arm from last nights romp with Zoe, she is in big trouble.

And no, they are not on my head.

That's where I was going to suggest looking! I only have one pair of glasses, and I am forever laying them down somewhere. I had to skip church one morning because I couldn't find my glasses, and have almost been late to work because of it.

I have lost my camera. It is more important to see than to take pictures. Do you want me to come help?

Perfection: I offered to help look but Lou said she did not want me to see her messes.

Lou: I think Toby hid your glasses to make you crazy!
Have you checked on top of the big chest in your bedroom? (the one by the door on the left. I forgot what those are called)

Just the other day I had my glasses in my hand and I was talking. I got distracted when I got back to needing my glasses they were nowhere to be found. I made the girls help me look, I think they were only trying half hearted. They think I am losing it. Anyway I looked for over a hour gave up and got Randy's. A few hours later I found them. Are you ready, they were hanging on the front of my shirt, no joke. I know yours are not on the front of your shirt. I am sure you checked there, they are not on my shirt either I checked.

Toby said that while working in the shop yesterday, Zoe the Great Dane, got his sunglasses and was walking off. She also carried the heat lamp on the chicks out into the pasture. Could she be the culprit who took my reading glasses?

If you had been at my house I would have to say my cat took them. For some reason he likes to chew on the plastic parts that go over your ears. If you allow him to do that then they get sharp little points where his teeth have dug in that you can feel when you wear them. My brother is the one who allows him to do it the most. He stayed at our house to babysit the cat last summer when the rest of us went to Maine. One morning he was on the couch eating cereal and the cat wouldn't leave him alone. My brother thought it was the cereal and milk he wanted. But no, he jumped up on the back of the couch, grabbed the glasses out of his pocket and ran under the dining room table to chew on them. Very weird cat.

The only time(s) I've ever lost my glasses was when I was drunker than the proverbial skunk before I went to bed. Searching for 'em the following morning was VERY traumatic, to say the least, coz I'm also blind as the proverbial bat without 'em. That sort of thing hasn't happened in years, however. There's some value in maturity...

Not saying you were in the bag, or anything, Lou. ;-)

Laurie, I've been wanting another cat, but hmm, maybe not.

Buck, I was not in my cups when I lost my glasses (like I know when I lost them), but I may try that to see if it helps to find them.
