Saturday Night Lights

We went to The Pipers for supper and to watch the big game last night with the understanding that there was a ban on "ribbing." I knew what was going to happen before the game, but I was hoping that TT would make a good showing. Piper really thought that TT would/might win. I had my doubts. I felt like OU was the strongest team. I even felt like their loss to UT was a fluke (but then I think UT is a fluke). TT and UT were more equally matched, but when the Sooners start rolling they are a whole ‘nother team. Having OU win over TT certainly made the field of players more interesting. One thing for sure - there is never a dull moment in TX and OK football. And RJ, I love you, too.

The Royals were delightful and the food was superb. An evening at The Piper’s is always enjoyable.

GIG'EM!!!!

(no, i'm ain't no aggie, but if there's anything a T-sip hates more than a BOOMER is a "Gig'Em" and with that one coming up i couldna resist. I'm surprised MamaLou allows comments like that on here.

Thankyou MamaLou, its always good havin' y'all over.

Just to let you know...i wasn't comfortable until we went up by 28, then i started to relax. Still and even, if TT wins out (and they will) it will be interesting to see how it all shakes out for the KC game...you know what would be fun, is to see TT play Boise St. (who is still undefeated) what an air show that would be.

Piper, if you only knew how often and adamantly John and I used to fight. John knows the he is safe over the internet and that I won't whup his skinny arse, but that paybacks can be heck. I will bide my time and gig' em when I can.

Jenn, Why not OSU?

I stayed with the whole game...even knowing as I did at the half that it was all over but the shouting... except for the 3,761st rendition of "Boomer Sooner." Or was that 3,762? One loses count... and the mute button most certainly gets a work-out.

The BCS will be interesting today, No?

Buck, I saw the BCS ratings this morning with UT ahead of OU. I don't know what those boys are thinkin'!

Whup my arse....yea, yea, yea. Hey Lou, don't fret about OU. Right now, we are ahead because of the simple fact that we beat them, but next weekend OU plays OSU (which is a ranked team, and one that we beat) while UT plays A&M, who are not ranked and are 4-7 for the year. So the reality will be OU jumping ahead of UT next week because of them playing a better team. Now if they lose, OU is history. And you know what...I do miss our fighting. Now we get along and think alike on some issues. At least I have your brother who I can fight about on politics :-)

You sound like me, piper. I wasn't willing to believe that TT wouldn't come back until we were 4 td's ahead. Then I kept saying, "now if Bradford keeps up with Harrell td for td we will be okay. The game surprised me, it really did.

All we could say down here in Texas is, "How did that TT beat UT and how did UT beat that OK team?" Wow... The Big 12 is a mess now, eh? Oh well, Hook-em!
