Blog Snob

You know, I struggle with Facebook, yet it seems to be the "in thang." Facebook has been a great way to find old friends and see what everyone else is doing, but I am not all that in to it. I don’t really understand all the "tags" and "pokes" and "invites" and such. I just like to look at photos and read the comments and see old friends. Today I was tagged in a photo (whatever that means) when my old friend, Sarah, posted this photo from 1996 (that is old friends, Sandra and Joy in the photo with me). 1996 does not seem like that long ago. We moved to OK from NM in the winter of 1996. Look at how slim I was when I left RR. Then Toby bought me a bread maker, and I knew no one in OK and I turned 40. Excuses, excuses…

Don't expect much from me on Facebook. Maybe I will get better at it; maybe not. I have had this blog for almost four years. Who would have thought that I could keep it going for so long. This is where I will continue to write my stories and post my photos. Truly I do not need to be on the computer any more than I already am.

This weekend was busy, and I did not get on the computer nearly as much as I would have liked. Right now, I am itching to get this posted and make my blog rounds and see what my blog friends have posted. I'm hooked on Blogger. Although I love seeing my old friends on Facebook, I love making new friends with Blogger.

I like my blog MUCH better than Facebook, as well, and for exactly the same reasons. I'm not finding Facebook all that easy, either... FWIW.

And you're right... 1996 doesn't seem like so long ago. Well... it does and it doesn't, if'n ya know what I mean. And in a strange sort of coincidence, TSMP also turned 40 in '96 and discovered she was pregnant with SN3, both in the same week. Those were exciting days...

Nice pic!

Buck, I think it is that the last 12 years since we have been in OK, have just gone so fast. Actually I turned 40 in 98. I turned 50 last year (and 51 in about 2 weeks).

I'm on Facebook, but it's much to busy for me. I usually give it a cursory pass-through on my way elsewhere.

Lou, I agree with you. Facebook is just too much... I'm not on the computer long enough to pay attention to all of that... I originally signed up to connect with old friends. I don't really want to know what someone is doing each and every moment of the day! I can barely find the time to post on my blog, never mind keep checking Facebook every five minutes! Like Becky said, give it a cursory pass-through and head on to more important things! P.S. I think the pic is great! My drivers lic still has the pic taken of me in 1997... oh yes, indeed... time sure does fly by quickly !

I like FB for the fact that I can keep in touch with a bunch of people - 99% of whom are "real-life" friends and colleagues.
That being said, I do like blogger and am still thwarted by the fact that my laptop at home still has problems. (My own fault - but I've been travelling too much to get it fixed, yet!)
