Mother's Day Weekend

It was a nice Mother’s Day weekend. Saturday Jesse and I did some work on the house (black tar stuff again) while Toby got on his bulldozer and pushed dirt around. I think Jesse and I got the short end of that stick. We were done early and decided to go to Lawton for the Arts for All Festival and a bit of shopping. I love going to the Arts Festival, but I really love spending time with my girl. Doing two things I love at one time made it the perfect day. I saw my old high school art teacher at the festival. This is the teacher who pulled me out of a boring art class with an inept teacher to teach me things I needed to know for college art classes. He taught me how to throw pots and mat pictures and prepared me for college. We have stayed in touch through the years. It is funny that back in high school, he seemed much older, but he is really only a few years older than I am. When he retired and opened his own studio, he invited me to come throw a pot wit him and gave me a coffee mug, which I eventually broke over the years. Saturday, he gave me a new coffee mug – very nice. Jes and I bought some funky earrings – another favorite thing to collect. It was a very nice day.

Sunday’s weather was a bit weird – cold – in fact. It was perfect weather for a big dog nap after church. Later, Toby went with me to Wal-Mart. He bought me ice cream at Braums and took me to see the GGs. My son had made the GGs some soft swords – so we were promptly hacked to pieces by the GGs – a little swash buckling never hurt anyone. I guess we didn’t get enough sword fighting, because we borrowed "Captain Blood" to watch for our evening movie. Tonight we can watch "The Black Swan" and maybe talk like pirates.

I hope all you mothers out there had a nice weekend and a great Mother's Day.

Frickin' blogger. I got an error message on my first comment, so I retyped it. I hit publish only to see the first comment made it, after all. (sigh) It's gonna be one of those days. I can tell.

Sounds like an an absolutely lovely weekend! I worked, as always, but next Friday Silver will be home! That will be my real Mother's Day. :)

Buck, we have Braum's restaurants all over the place here. I've never been...what am I missing?

Christina,
My daughter gave me a gift certificate for a massage - it will be my first! Braums are wonderful ice cream and have pretty good burgers and such too. Then there is the grocery store part - some people think Braum's milk and meats are very good.

Buck,
Toby and I split a split quite often. Braum's is an OK based company, so we have them everywhere.

I was going to write a nice Mother's Day post, but Ranger broke my O key on my laptop. I was so angry I couldn't see straight enough to post properly (and I had to use zeros in place of o's).
