Spur of the Moment Road Trip

Guess where I am! Since Toby has to be in Houston on Tuesday, and it has been raining in OK for a while, we decided a little road trip was in order. We headed down Hwy 281 to see the sights. It was dark and overcast at first, but cleared as we got further south. We stopped in Hico for soome pie at the Koffee Kup and some chocolate here
We stopped and wondered about downtown Marble Falls, which was interesting. About the time I took over the driving, I started seeing beautiful yellow blooms on the cacti. I squealed with delight - literally. Thank goodness I was driving and not Toby - he doesn't do well when I squeal. Toby went on the lookout and located these beauties near the fencemaking it easy for me to get a few snapshots. Then he took over the driving again until we stopped in Blanco. Somewhere he had read that Blanco had a brewery. Yep, we picked up a few Blanco River Brews. We eventually made it to San Antonio, threw our stuff in the hotel room, and caught a shuttle to the Riverwalk. Here is your margarita, Buck. Today we are headed to the Mercado and more good Mexican food.

Buck, the fine old house is the chocolate placeat Hico. I'll have to get the name of it later - the bag is in the car. Years ago, my dad and I stopped there. It is fairly famous.
