Art and Advice

After taking the summer off from teaching my little art classes, I'm going to start them up today. This year I am not taking on any new students. In the future I will raise the age limit. I love my students, but I get tired of the younger, sillier talk. You know me, silliness is not usually a problem, but it can be annoying - depending on how it effects the other kids in class.

I've also had some adults interested in taking class with me. A new lady will start watercolor with me on Thursday. This lady is an excellent oil painter, but she wants to learn some watercolor techniques. It is funny that I stopped painting with the Ladies, and have suddenly had other people wanting classes. I really need to be a better business person. I really need to line up my ducks.

Speaking of businesses, Jesse and I have been thinking on a name for our art and pottery business. I like Lazy B Art or Mud Creek Art, but Jesse does not. If you have any ideas, feel free to sound them out here.

Toby and I ate at a Chinese place yesterday. My fortune cookie said, "You are always free with your advice and help." Yep, that is me - always telling people what to do and how to act, etc. Toby opened his cookie and read, "You are always getting free advice..." Isn't he funny - he made that up.

I'm not fully caffeinated yet so I gots nuthin'.

re: silliness. It really depends on the type of silliness where I'm concerned. I can deal with child-like silliness from children but not from adults. Does that make sense?

Buck, it does make sense. When little kids are silly, I don't mind. But I expect more from older kids and adults. Twelve year olds are kind of caught in the middle - where their bodies are growing up, but their minds are still very young. It makes me a bit crazy sometimes.

Love the fortune cookies! We tried to go to the Yu Garden tonight for our "last supper" and they were closed so we settled for the Sunset Grill as we can walk to either of them. So, no fortune cookies, here. It is good to be painting and teaching. Applause!

Jo, yesterday's class went well - it is good to be teaching and painting.

Joyce, I hadn't tried adding that phrase, but it is funny.

I like "Feathergrass Art", or maybe "Scissortail Art". Or maybe "Poor Clare Art" (Saint Catherine was a Poor Clare Nun, and she's the patron saint of artists).

Ooh Staci, I like those. Jesse stamps leaves into some of her pottery - she may like the Feathergrass Art.
