Bad Impressions

I don’t have anything exciting. It is not that I have no thoughts, but that I have too many. They seem to be jumbled and running into each other and causing me stress. It may be best to just put them away somewhere for awhile. None of them are important; just ramblings.

It was a busy day of errands and Wal-Mart. Jes invited Lindz over for a visit and dinner. So I invited her mom too. Jesse cooked codfish in herbs and wine. I made a potato gratin dish from Southern Living. It was all rather tasty, if I do say so myself. At one point in the conversation we were discussing old movies that made an impression on us – good and bad. I mentioned that Looking for Mr. Goodbar was a movie that had made a horrible impression on me. Since Jes and Lindz had never seen the movie and probably would not ever see it, I explained some of the movie. Unfortunately, I misplaced my prepositional phrase and said, "There was this one scene where Richard Gere was dancing around with a knife…in his underwear." The look on Jesse and Lindz’ faces was priceless. Hmm, talk about your bad impressions! I think they were horrified. Of course, when I realized what I had said, I re-explained the scene. I’m not sure things got better – Lindz and Jes made terrible fun of me, and we all had a good laugh.

The best thing about "Looking For..." was the soundtrack. IIRC.

Lou, I know exactly what you mean.

Mr. Goodbar...yeah, I remember it. Piece of crap.

Buck, I don't remember the soundtrack. I think I tried to put it all out of my mind.

Andy, One of the things I wanted to do with this blog was use it as a sounding board, but there are people I know who don't always like the sounds that I make.
