Little Readers

Toby took Friday off and we worked on the house a bit. Saturday we went to WF to put up a storm door at his mom’s new apartment. I had been fighting a cold and not feeling especially perky. By Sunday I wanted to be left alone and to rest. My thought was to go back to bed this morning after Toby went to work. For some reason, Jesse decided to clean the kitchen. When the angry mama bear came out of the bedroom to ask WTH, she explained that she always cleaned the kitchen in the mornings. What?! Since when? Can’t you see me trying to sleep? Grumble, grumble, whine! And she thinks I’m a bad roommate.

On a different note, while in WF this weekend we went by Market Street to do some grocery shopping. As I walked past the magazine/ book area, I saw a little boy hidden in the rack of magazines. He was sitting cross-legged, reading a book. It took me back to when I was a youngster living in Electra, TX. When Mom went to the grocery store, my brother and I would head to the magazine rack where we would climb in it and sit and read while Mom shopped. Of course we were reading the comic books or the teen magazines. I hadn’t thought of that in years.

Speaking of little readers, on Friday we went by to see the GGs. They were doing their school work, and we were a welcome break. While visiting, I took my phone out of my pocket. GBN2 took the phone and said, "Now I have yuh phone." Then she managed to stuff it in her own little pocket (it barely fit) and she said, "Puhfect!" Then she turned to her mother and explained that she had to go home with Booboo and Crewcraw, because she had their phone. Her mother made her give the phone back, and she had to go back to her school work. I love how their little minds work.

Well, at least ya got a clean kitchen out o' the deal. ;-)

That said, I hope ya feel better soon.

I STILL occasionally swing by the magazine rack in Wally-World to "scan" the mo'sickle magazines; some require more detailed scanning than others. That stuff is expensive now!

I'm down with the crud myself, so I feel your pain, Lou. Hope it passes soon.

Buck, just for the record: Jesse is is busy at her computer this morning and has not cleaned the kitchen like she "always" does. Of course, I'm not trying to sleep in this morning.

Magazines are ridiculously priced!

BR, Thanks. I hope you get to feeling better too.

Hope you are better. Love the stories. We didn't have magazines in the store, but I loved to get out some "Books of Knowledge" my Mom had. They must have been from the 50s and were full of fairy tales, classic stories and fables. Learned a lot there! Lovely drawings, too.
