Cards and Paintings

Toby's been off on a business trip for the last several days. You know, I just don't sleep well with him not pressed up against my backside. Then someone has to do his chores, and I hate feeding the chickens. I'm off my feed a bit. Today (Wed) I plan on wearing myself plum out so that maybe I will sleep tonight. I'll start with some house work, then painting with the Ladies, later will be sign class, and then church. Speaking of painting, I have been working on a few small paintings. Since I got so many nice birthday presents, I need some thank you cards, and I'm behind on my small paintings/cards.

This first portrait is not small. I did it yesterday with the Ladies - wanting to do a portrait and trying to get the color right. They all oohed and aahed over it, but not Jesse. She said, "The eyes are wrong." Thank you, Jes, for your honesty and bluntness. I will fix the eyes.

Can you tell that I got a lighthouse book for my birthday? I guess I will paint some lighthouses. This one may be leaning a bit - maybe it was the camera.

One of the Ladies had tulips for us to paint last week. Roosters always make a nice painting/card.

Good on Jesse. I had to look pretty closely to see what she's on about.

I like lighthouses a lot, too. Michigan has a LOT of 'em, which tends to surprise some folks who don't realize the Great Lakes are as massive as they are.

I'm thinkin' Toby prolly ain't sleepin' too well, either. I never slept worth a damn when I was on the road... I missed my own bed (and bed partner) terribly.

Buck,
I am glad Jesse is honest and blunt (sometimes). If your zipper is down or you have mustard on your nose, she will be sure to tell you.

I haven't been around here lately - shame on me! Once again you share your beautiful work and I am in awe.
