Spring Rain

We had a great weekend - it rained! It's not like the pond is filling up or anything, but it is amazing what a little rain will do for the color around here.We are thankful for the rain. It rained some Friday night. Saturday mourning before the next rain, we worked on the garden area a bit. Jesse started her own garden out near the barn to use the run-off water from her pottery. Waste not! We have all sorts of plants to put out, but the ground has been brick hard. I can't wait to get all the plants out of my house.

We also started work under the house putting up the duct work for the AC/heater. Being under the house is not fun. It is creepy and dirty. Even the GGs did not want to stay under there for long. Still, it was good to get it going and get the AC/heater pipes out of my living room.

Since the weather was cool and wet, we also did another bit of inside work. Jes and Toby have been "cooking" apple cider/wine. They bottled it last night. I helped, too. It takes three Baggetts to hold and pour apple juice into the bottles - one to hold the bottle, one to hold the siphon and strainer, and one to pour. All is bottled - now to wait for the harvest.

The Junk Diva is taking me junking today. Jes, Lindz, and The Junk Hunk are going too. It should be a party! I'm taking the camera and will document the day. Like I need more junk around my house!

We were praying for rain here but it didn't happen. I really can't remember the last time it rained. Srsly. And the freakin' wind is still howling...

Staci, I thought about you today. This was junk - stuff that needed a lot of love and help.

Buck, We got lots of mist this morning and have more chances for rain this week. We will take whatever we can get, and we will pray for Portales.

Airman Mom, we have already had days in the 90's. A north wind and this taste of rain is wonderful.

We will be close to 100 today and no rain in the foreseeable future. All tornados and junk up by Dallas. Glad you had a little rain, wish David could send it from Kentucky. They are flooding. Never a perfect time it seems.

Have fun junkin'.
