Crazy Weather and Wild Dreams

We worked hard on the house this weekend putting in more ducts and the gas lines - all under the house work. It was dirty stuff for sure. Crawling around on your hands and knees, then sitting bent over to work is hard on the body.

The GGs came over with their dad to "help" out. Their father was lots of help. He certainly saved my bacon. I started off the day working with Toby under the house, but when Bo got here, he took over my spot. I was moved to the "hand me, get me, put me" position up top. I also played with the GGs:) The day was warm and a bit windy at first. Then the wind quit blowing and things turned out very nice for us above ground workers. Jesse worked on her pottery all day, since she has a commission. The GGs played in the clay, as well as the sand pile we have. We rode the four wheeler and had a great time. I would have taken a new profile picture for my blog, but we looked wild and crazy. They were some tired, dirty birdies by the time they left the Lazy B. I think they were still tired Sunday at church. I noticed that GBN1 fell asleep in church - something she has not done in a long time. None of us had any trouble sleeping this weekend.

In the wee hours of Sunday morning, the weather turned, and things got cold. The wind started blowing from the north. We had to get up and shut the windows and kick the cat (he was howling to get inside). The temps did not get above 60 on Sunday. We also broke out the coats and started up the heater (thank goodness we got the gas line finished and turned back on). The funny thing was that we capped the gas line into the present kitchen and moved my little stove to the outdoor kitchen. Our thinking was that we could cook outside until we got the new kitchen finished - which would have worked well if the weather had not turned cold and rainy. Crazy Okie weather!

Speaking of sleeping, here is our conversation on the way to church Sunday morning:

Toby: Last night I dreamed that I parked my Cadillac (we don't own a Caddy) down by the pond. You know how low the pond is. Then it started raining and the pond was rising. I was worried about my car. I woke up and sure enough it was raining.

Me: That is funny. Last night I dreamed that my living room was full of homeschoolers making quilts. They were packed into the living room with their quilt racks (Obvious anxiety dream).

Jesse: I dreamed it was snowing uranium and we were all going to die.

Toby and me: You win!

It got waaay cold here yesterday, too. Our low was forecast to be in the 20s last night, but I don't know the actual temp. I DO know I ran the furnace all danged day, tho. You wouldn't have wanted to cook outdoors if'n you were here.

Buck, With the north wind and rain, it may have gotten up to 60, but it sure did not feel like it. I'm not complaining, but it sure is strange weather.

Wish we had rain. Windy and cool. Temp went down about 20 degrees in the last 30 minutes of the baseball game yesterday. 55 the high today and near 100 degrees last week. Crazy is right, Buck.

Good thing you all are young with all that hard work going on!

Jo,
We should have built this house 10 years ago.

I think it's time to see some new pictures of the new house.
