We had an odd little thang happen last night after we went to bed. First, one of the cell phones beeped. I got up and checked my phone thinking it might be a text from Jesse, although it was not my usual beep. Jesse would roll her eyes at this since she makes fun of me jumping every time a cell phone beeps. I did not have a message or anything, but just in case, I put my phone in the living room. As I crawled back in bed, Toby did ask about the phone beeping - he rarely jumps for any phone. Before we could fall back asleep, the phone beeped again. This time Toby got up and checked his phone. Sure 'nuff, it was his phone beeping - a telemarketer. Great. Toby turned his phone off and got back into bed. About the time we started to fall back asleep, we heard a loud pop. Toby said, "I guess we are not going to sleep tonight." Neither of us could figure out what the sound was, but we did get up to investigate. Toby went off into the new part of the house, but I did not think it was coming from there. The super sleuth in me began to think, "What could that sound have been?" I looked down at the box where Jesse and Toby have their bottles of apple cider/wine. Yep, big mess spreading across the floor. One of the bottles had just exploded. Apple cider/wine was running all over the kitchen floor. Great. It took us a while to get it all cleaned up. Now I am wondering if any of my art students today will be able to smell the apple cider/wine or as Toby calls it, apple beer. That is what it smells like. Great.
I did get an email from Jes this morning. She and her friends seem to be having fun in Hawaii. My cousin has a little blue convertible VW Bug for them to drive - watch out, Hawaii! They spent yesterday lounging on the beach, which is not Jesse's idea of a "great" day, but on "okay" day. She likes to be doing something with a little more action, but she said she had no "toys" to play with - so she did walk and sketch. Sometimes, you just have to go with the flow.
Jesse's main reason for emailing was to say she had sold her "coffee" mug on her Etsy account. If you have not visited her blogs and Etsy account, you should. She has a slide show of her pottery on her blog and her Etsy account linked. She also has some "rejects" here at the house that I think would sell too. Give me a holler if you are interested in any pottery. She has also posted more France pictures on her old blog. Maybe she will have pics from Hawaii when she returns. Here is pics from her trip to Hawaii several years ago in the meantime.

Lou, that is a very sad story. I mean, losing a whole bottle of apple beer...
Kinda brings a tear to my eye.
And, it must really suck to have to spend a whole day on the beach in Hawaii.
Life is tough...
One of the bottles had just exploded.
You just described my first and last venture into home brewing. TSMP was NOT pleased as my bottle exploded in our fridge, making everything smell like beer, even the milk. That was a right royal mess to clean up, lemmee tell ya.
I could use a day at the beach. Or just ONE calm day, at least.
Andy and Buck,
I hear ya, on the one calm day at the beach. I thought this week without Jesse around the house would be quite calm. Maybe next week...
