Yesterday's blog post may have seemed wild, but it really was not an unusual weekend for Toby and me. Anytime you work on the farm, ranch, or house things are bound to go wrong. Life with Toby has never been dull. After a time like this past weekend, I usually turn to Toby and say, "You are always a fun date." and I mean it. Of course, life with my dad prepared me for such a life with Toby. It all just seems normal to me.
My wrist is still giving me problems this morning. I think it is some sort of tendinitis from using my hands so much. Building a house requires lots of tool handling. Yesterday's house cleaning just topped it off and now my wrist is hurting. It is not a constant hurt, but a sharp pain when I do certain things. The problem is that I never know what will cause the pain. I lifted a 40 pound bag of salt last night - no problem. I go to pick my nose and nearly fall to my knees with the pain. It just needs to rest.
Jesse and her friends made it to Hawaii yesterday, but I have not heard directly from her. I'm sure she will email me when she can - yeah right.

I want to live Jesse's life for a while...
As Gene would say, "Don't pick your nose!" Seriously, take care of that wrist.
Your weekend was wild. We went down to Nueva Rosita to the dentist last week. Uneventful, got Gene's teeth fixed, 5 fillings and both of our teeth cleaned. $128 :) Of course the hotel and wine is another story. Ha.
We are looking forward to photos of your house. Not much to show under I imagine. Sounds like way too much work.
I think you are right about the moms. I didn't get a Mother's Day post up either and had both moms to post about. Sigh...... After the mom photos on facebook I was going to use those when they were young. Another time, I imagine. Dads are so much easier to write about.
Bet Jesse is having fun.
You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friends nose. But I would if you needed me to.
Staci, wouldn't we all?!
Jo, I snorted at the thought of your wine and hotel comment. How about the food cost?
Diva, I'd do the same for you, maybe.
it is amazing how we don't hear "directly" but through a facebook comment or a picture...and as moms we know they are okay.
do you believe in chiropractors? a chiropractor could help your wrist. just a thought.
Rest the wrist! (and to hell with the rest) (I think there might be poetry in here, somewhere.)
Buck, you are quite the poet or master of alliteration.
Joyce, I've never been to a chiropractor. "Believing in" one is kind of an odd thought. Would I spend money on one? Not this time. I will just rest the wrist as Buck said.
Believing in as in trust. If you don't believe, then you will be tense and fearful. The chiropractor can still align things to where they should be, if the chiropractor is a good one. There are some quacks out there. So, it is good to get references and testimonials from friends who know a good one for sports injuries.
maybe I should have added: I was raised on chiropractors. When I got hurt in gym class, my folks took me to a chiropractor, then took me back to school. Bob, however, does not believe in them. He allows me to go, and he has seen them help me--like the time I tripped over the vaccum and could not even drive, he had to drive me. But, that did not convince him a chiropractor could help him.
Lou, the food at the hotel was about like Chilis or some such. But we ordered wine and the waiter brought a bottle of wine from Chile .. well we couldn't resist. Gene asked if it was expensive and the waiter said, "Regular". So we drank it. When the bill came it was $65 .. guess it was regular price for the rich tourists! Oh well, it was good. Just one tank of gas!
I like the old style chiropractors, the new stuff where they put electric pulse and warm towels, I can do at home. Ha.
Jo,
65$ good grief! I hope you enjoyed the wine.
I just gotta say that I love your attitude. Many people would find times to complain and be unhappy. I'm encouraged by your attitude and how you love life. It's great!
