Rain Sweet Rain

It is raining as I write. It rained softly all day yesterday. I'm so thankful. It was not enough to make mud (the ground is very hard) but it was enough to lower temperatures greatly. Some people might have even needed a sweater, but not me. 'Cause I'm a mountain woman! Well, I used to be. Years ago in RR when the temps were down in the 45 to 50 range (October I think) a friend called me a "mountain woman" because I was running around in a T-Shirt. In the mountains, you know you are going to be facing months and months of wearing a coat - so you wear short sleeves as long as you can. Now down here in the flat lands when the weather is cool in September, you try to soak up the cold, because you know there is still more heat to come. Friends came by last evening to get the last bale of hay. They were all wearing hoodies. I was wearing capri's and a T-Shirt covered in mud and water from tiling and cleaning the tools.

Toby and I did not take Andy's advice (in yesterday's comments). Instead, we laid lots of tile yesterday. We needed to getter' done, and yesterday was a great day for working with the temps cool. As long as we were moving and working all was well. It was when we stopped that things went stiff. We worked from 1:00 PM to about 6:30 PM. We will pay for that work today. Yep, we are sore - gettin' around like Grandpa McCoy.

Jesse came home Wednesday afternoon and worked on her pottery and went to church. Thursday morning she curled up on the couch with a quilt and had coffee with us. Then she was off to school again. She left the quilt on the couch. The dog and cat were very thankful. It is raining pretty hard right now. I'm thinking that curling up on the couch may be the way to go today.

Woo hoo! Congrats on the rain! Go find the Ben Gay before curling up. It's raining in Little Rock, too. Of course it's raining -- they've just now started getting some traction on the addition.

More rain please. The kind that falls softly, for days. Now that is some book reading, nap taking weather.

Rain?? What's that? It is cloudy today. Fingers crossed, they say a 10-20% chance.

Your tile story sounds too much like us! Everything we do turns into an adventure! Hugs.....
