High Hopes

This morning I had planned on posting after making my rounds and drinking some coffee - waking up sufficiently. I didn't really have anything blog worthy, but I was hoping someone would inspire me. I still don't have anything, but I here I am. Anyway, things did not work out like I wanted. I had such a sinus headache this morning, that reading blogs made my eyes hurt. It was difficult to focus much less think. I did a few things around the house, took some cold medicine hoping my headache would disappear. Usually I leave the house around 9:30 to do my tutoring. I had hoped to watch a little of Regis on his good-bye show, but what I really needed was to shut my eyes for a minute. So I did. Before I could get to that really restful stage, I had to jump back up and move on with my morning. Toby was in The City last night for some continuing ed class. Although I let all the dogs in the house for extra protection (and it was cold and I just like them inside) I just don't sleep well without Toby hogging the bed. Now I was tired and my head hurt.
So with my sinus headache and sleepy brain, I went off to tutor. After teaching, I had planned a pedicure so that my toes would look excellent for Thanksgiving and my sister and sister-in-laws would be duly impressed. While having my legs and feet massaged, my eyes closed. I could have slept for hours - maybe days - but I had to pull my self out from the deep and move on. I was worried that my mouth would drop open and sounds would come from my sinuses. How embarrassing would that have been in the Wal-Mart nail salon! Well, it might not have been a first for Wal-Mart. Man, I wanted to sleep!

After I arrived home and put away a few groceries, I pulled the covers back and sunk into the pillows. I was hoping to shut my eyes for a while, since I had no obligations. But then my phone rang. About the time I shut my eyes for a second time just reaching that relaxed sleep, it rang again. This time a friend was in the neighborhood and wanted to see the house. Sure, why not! My friend dropped by, visited, got the grand tour, and left. I hurried back to the bed. By this time, my headache was much better, but dang it, I wanted to nap like my big dogs. And I did.

I feel much better. If I knew what time Toby was coming home, I might make supper. Oh well, I hope he isn't expecting much.
Earlier in the week, I had lunch with my Painted Lady friends. It was Jean's birthday (far right). We had the waitress take this photo. Ya know, my aunt told me that if you stick your bottom out, your chin would look smaller. While posing for this shot, I was bent over to be on the same level with the sitting ladies. I thought, "My butt is way out there. My chin should look great!"

Thanks for the tip! Next time I get my picture taken, I must remember to stick my butt way out there!
