Weekend Report - Visitors

My friend, Carolyn, and her new husband came to see us this weekend. It was great to see her and catch up on her life. She brought her own blow-up air mattress and slept in my new bedroom in front of my new fireplace. Although it was kind of like camping out, it looked cozy.

This is the Carolyn who lived in the married housing back when we were all going to college. Bo was born during that time - it was a hard time, but fun time. We all were married, broke, and trying to get through school. At one time, we were all very close, but no longer. I did not keep up with all those college married folk, and I appreciate in Carolyn that she has made the effort to stay in touch these past 30+ years.

We did a little bit of work on the house, but mostly we spent the weekend visiting. On Saturday morning, we picked up the GGs and took them to breakfast. Carolyn does not have grandbabies yet, so I showed off. Well, the GGs showed off. I think everyone was duly impressed.

Lots of things are suppose to happen this week. Our tile is suppose to be shipped to us - yeha! The kitchen island counter-top is suppose to come in also. Ya know, though, I've been trained to not get too excited about such promises. We will see.

Yay for kitchen tile and college friends. I've gotten back in touch with some of my old friends on FB. It's great to connect with them again.

It is so great when plans come together, I'm rootin' for the tile! It is fun to see old friends, too. So happy for you.

Thanks, Ladies. I have my doubts about the tile.

Well, here's hoping the tile DOES come in.

There's nothing quite like old friends. I'm in sorta the same boat with you, Lou, in that there are only a handful of people I'm known for 30 years or longer. But those few are REAL keepers and I love 'em to death.

Buck,
Igumma - heh! I have quite a few friends that I have known for over 30 years, but not from that college era - for some reason.

Younger Daughter and I have definitely learned not to expect much from such promises. Glad you had a nice visit.
