Award or Chain?

You may have noticed in my comments that the Mellow Jihadi, my new favorite blogger, has given me the Liebster Award.

I had been seeing this award all over the blogosphere and wondered about it. It seems that it is kind of a meme or possibly a chain letter with well intentions. It is flattering to think that someone reads and likes my blog well enough to link me and make mention on his blog and I do appreciate it. But, now I am required to do the same to five of my favorite bloggers. Dang! On the one hand, I don't mind giving a shout out to fellow bloggers. On the other hand, I hate to make them follow the meme thang, too - mostly 'cause the blogs I read are folk who are sort of set in their ways and might not want to link and copy and do and etc. I hate making decisions. Could I maybe do just part of the meme - maybe mention my favorite blogs and say something about them, without making them do the Liebster thang? Sure, I can. It is my blog.

Buck, my longtime favorite and friend. His blog has something for just about everyone, well, maybe not fashion or movie reviews, but lots of fun stuff.

Jesse, my daughter and favorite photographer for those who like to look at pictures rather than read.

Andy, who always makes me laugh, but do not follow his links unless you want to be shocked - like 6th grade boy bathroom humor.

Jo, who may be my long lost sister and who is a great artist with a very interesting life.

Wrexie, who is a new blogger to me and seems to have a great sense of humor.

There are lots of other bloggers I read, but according to the Liebster Rules, I only have to mention five blogs. And what constitutes a good blog? I like a good sense of humor, various info, themes and such, but mostly I like a blogger who interacts with his/her readers. It is what makes the blogosphere go round and round.
