- A NM friend of mine posted this pro gun control link on FB. Then this Amy chick made a comment on the article. After much consideration, I made a comment too. This is how it went down from there:
- Amy Hargrove Sime Wow. That was a very very good read. "Those who oppose it have made a moral choice: that they would rather have gun massacres of children continue rather than surrender whatever idea of freedom or pleasure they find wrapped up in owning guns or seeing guns owned..."
Wow. But they are so rabid about it you cannot even have a discussion. - Lou Baggett I find the same true about pro-abortion people. They would rather see the massacres of thousands of children than surrender what ever idea of freedom or pleasure they have.
- Amy Hargrove Sime Well, that seemed unnecessarily insulting and not at all germane to the conversation.
- Ellen Miller Goins I guess this illustrates the variety of my Facebook friends....
I understand your correlation, Lou, but I agree with Amy in that you are shifting the argument to a discussion that belongs on its own and not with what I thought was a very thoughtful editorial about the gun control discussion. - Lou Baggett I understand, Ellen. I just find it fascinating that USUALLY it is the same people who are for gun control that are also pro abortion - the killing of children/babies by something designed to rip apart bone and organ. It was just an observation. Obviously, it hit a sore spot with your friend, Amy.

You can't tell Lefties ANYTHANG. They already know it all.
It has been a long time since I waded into a fight. I just had to say a few words.
You are right, Lou. The ones who support gun control usually also support abortion, and oppose the death penalty. Their hypocrisy is stunning, yet they refuse to see it. I thought you gave an excellent response.
Thanks for your support, Becky.
Bob says I can post the way he put it so well: 20 dead children is either a horrendous massacre at a grade school or a slow day at an abortion clinic
I miss Bob's eloquent writing. He is a man with insight.
I agree with all of you. There was a man that drew his gun at the Oregon shooting, but didn't have a line of fire. Seems the guy saw him and commited suicide .. that was not reported very much. Sigh.....
I had heard that too. The article I linked to a week or so back had some other incidents where a gun stopped a mass killing - also not reported much.
