March Lion Roared

Yesterday was beautiful and warm. I sat outside at one point to read my book and soak up some rays.  When Toby got home from work, there was still a bit of sun left. We made a plan to eat in town. He took off on his bicycle and I waited 30 minutes before heading that way to pick him up. It was getting dark when I picked him up outside Duncan, and I was worried for him.  It made me think of Gene and Jo and their way of biking - Gene bikes while Jo drives.  Although, I do like to bike with Toby, but sometimes I have to be the designated driver.

While in town, we ate a big burger - no fries. I am dieting, ya know. It seems that a hamburger is my downfall - the food I can't live without. I figure if I just eat the burger and skip the fries, it is not such a bad meal.  Besides, I needed to get my burger fix before going to France.  It is doubtful that they will have a good burger, but I will have French fries while I am there :)

About the time we got home and settled in with our various techno-gadgets, the wind started to blow. It was the kind of wind that made the three little pigs fearful - like the house was coming down.  It blew all night causing the house to creek and pop and things outside to crash. This morning the patio furniture was in a pile. A terracotta pot full of dirt and dead plants blew off the patio table. Several tiles from the table blew off and shattered, and chairs are scattered. It was a mess. Sleep was difficult last night with all the noise - reminds me of sleeping in a tent years ago when a similar wind blew - the next morning Toby said, "I dreamed I was a flag."  Yep, that is how I feel now. I'm thinking I will have to have a nap today.

The biking story made us smile. Haven't been able to do that for a while. We are on the road. We will be at Regina's in NC for a couple of days. We are wondering about how our place fared in the winds.

I knew you were traveling, but I didn't know where. Have fun. I doubt we all blow away.

We had horrendous winds last night, too. I secured my patio furniture yesterday afternoon when the blow began so I didn't have to drive over to Clovis to retrieve my chairs this morning. It's not often I think ahead...

You WILL have some great french fries in Paris. They do excellent pommes frites... among the best in the world, to my way of thinkin'.

It was a north wind here - cold. With past winds, we have had to search the pasture for our patio furniture. Besides the broken pots and tiles, my Adirondack chair had a broken arm.

I think I need some French fries and wine.
