Birthdays

It has been a week full of birthdays with GBN1's tenth birthday (party on Saturday) and my birthday on Sunday. And my exercise class baking me a cake yesterday. My actual birth day was a Sunday. The story goes that Mom's water broke several days before she went into labor. When she finally went into labor it was a Sunday. Dad told her to wait until after Bonanza was over - then they would go to the hospital. Mom also tells that she looked down on the doctor's boots in the delivery room, and they had cow manure on them. She pointed this out to the doctor, who was unconcerned. He had been working his cattle when he had been called to the hospital. I've often teased that this greatly effected me.

So what did I get for my birthday? I got a new sweater from Coldwater Creek and some new pastels - both I bought for myself, which is not a bad way to do your gift. Jesse brought me a new mug that one of her friends made. It is a great size and color. On Sunday we had some friends and family come over after church.  We cooked out on the grill and sat outside in the warm sun.  It was a perfect day for March. I've had birthday's where we played volleyball wearing T-shirts and birthday's where we were bundled up for snow. Such is March.

A couple of my girl friends suggested we have lunch together in town on Monday to celebrate all our March birthdays. But it got confused and I had a bad attitude and didn't go. I'm so like my dad sometimes that it even scares me.

I'm glad the birthdays came and went. Now it is back to the diet.  Here is a print Jesse did - a roadrunner.

I like Jesse's roadrunner. Super fine.

I know the feeling of not wanting to go. I went to class today, just because I was committed. Just four students so felt I had to go. Had a good time once I got there, but didn't paint well. Ah well, I got out and about.

That is the way we do birthday gifts, too. Nice!
