August Rains

The cooler weather and rain brought me some relief.  I may make it through August yet. Hopefully September will be a little cooler. October's calendar is already filling up. It is the first cool month without being cold - maybe that is why people schedule so much during October. November can be nice, but it can turn pretty cold. If you think about it, fall is very short in Texas and Oklahoma. It is like summer goes through September, fall is October, and bam! It is Winter.

I have been working out in the pottery room leaving the doors and windows open to the cooler weather. Our rains were good and steady wetting the dry and thirsty soil, which sucked it up like a sponge. It is going to take lots more rain to fill up the pond, but I am glad for what we got. Since Toby got these longhorns, we will need some grass to get through the rest of the summer. Sunday when we came out of church, it was raining and the temperature was 70. Nice! We came home and fixed a pizza and took a nap. Rainy days are lazy around here.

We also had a CTAC board retreat on Saturday morning. It went well - as well as expected. Lots of ideas on fundraising were tossed around. Hopefully they will die out. Who needs more fundraisers? Mostly we just need to do better at what we are doing. If we have one more raffle, I will poke my eye out (or somebody's). The people on the CTAC board are basically a great group. We laugh lots and enjoy each other. But as on every board or committee people get carried away. We aren't doing so poorly. Covid hit everyone hard. Now with Biden-flation, times are tight. But, please, no more raffles.

Jesse posted in Instagram  and Facebook a large piece of her mural. It is going to be cool. The elephant is 13 feet. The entire mural will be on a four story parking garage in downtown WF.

You took a nap - was it a big dog nap? Did you get torrential rain, like we did? It's good you are keeping busy. I kind of miss being busy.

Can't wait to see the murals.

Such a busy life you lead. We watched movies today, Gene’s back hurting.

Is Jessie’s mural tile? Gonna be so gorgeous. Wow. I’m speechless now.

FF,
It was a big dog nap.But the rain was not like it was in the DFW area. It was slow and steady.

Jo,
Jesse's mural is tile. It will be awesome when completed.
