Off Balance

Being a morning person, I usually just hop out of bed in the mornings, but yesterday I pretty much fell out of bed and crashed into the dresser. It seems my balance was haywire. Once the room stopped spinning, I would feel sick and then break out in a sweat. It was lovely. As long as I stayed fairly upright and did not move too fast, things were okay. I managed art class with my big girls, but the whole business of dizziness wore me out. This morning I feel much better – I am thankful for the prayers.

Since I have not posted any paintings lately, I thought I would today. I continue to work on painting people in watercolor. It seems beyond me, but I keep trying. Some of these are not so good, and need some more work or maybe just chunked, but I thought I would show them anyway. I think I may have posted this one before, but I did some more work on it – darkening the background a bit. Here is my busker from my visit to Calgary several years ago. This little cowgirl needs some work on her eyes…And then there is this lady sitting. I do want to do people – they are just so fascinating.

I always love to see your paintings. You put such life in your watercolor work. Very cool .... and beautiful.

I think your paintings are amazing. I'm always envious of folks who have such an artistic talent, I can't draw a credible stick figure!

Wow... sorry about your balance issues yesterday, but I'm glad you're feeling better today.

It seems beyond me...

Hardly. I think that ol' sayin' about "We are our own worst critics" applies here.

Thanks everyone.

Buck, I may be my own worst critic, but my watercolor portraits are not to a level that my pastel portraits are. I don't have a "style" that is unique - that people would say, "hey, I want her to do a portrait for me." Does that make sense?

Hey, I want you to do a poitrait for me, you have such a unique style.

Diva, I'll paint you.

Does that make sense?

Yeah, it does. I'm impressed with your persistence, tho. I like your style, FWIW.

Diva made me smile. Your retort did, too. And somehow I think "I'll paint you" means exactly that. ;-)

yikes! Is it Vertigo? Hubster had a crazy case of Vertigo, came out of the blue. Hope today is a better day for you.
You are blessed with an incredible gift! Thanks for sharing your gift with us!

Lou - I disagree with your own assessment. Your watercolors are very good with a spartan style that is very appealing. Not over-worked nor under-worked. Elegant yet folksy.

See - you do have a style!

Be careful of that dizzy thing. Hope it stays better for you. I had it for 10 days once - could barely stand up it was so bad. Then it went away as suddenly as it came. But a friend of mine had it for nearly a year. Ugh!

Kris, thanks! Coming from such a stylish woman I take your words as a true compliment.

Buck, You know me and the Diva well.

Airman Mom, Have you seen my soldier paintings? You can buy them from Soldiers' Angels.
