Happy Birthday Moonbeam

Today is Jesse’s birthday. She was born in the wee morning hours looking plump, pink, and beautiful. We had thought about the name Amanda for her, but she was not an Amanda. She was a Jesse - "A goin’ Jesse" as I often called her, because she was forever on the go wanting to do and see and be everything. To say that she has a bit of an independent streak is to put it mildly. You could say she struggles with contentment, but I think she just has an adventurous soul (and I totally understand). Today, she is headed off on another big adventure - this time a road trip for her vacation. She will have a grand time, because that is who she is. I am amazed at how much my daughter has grown, not just physically, but in wisdom, beauty and spirit. Still, as a mother there are certain things I want for her – Peace Love and Joy come to mind.

As I searched for a pic of her for today’s post, I decided to just take a photo of her before she left for work. She posed very sweetly, but I could see in her eyes that she was wanting to move on. She had places to be and things to do. I managed to take two pics before she broke free – it reminded me of the song "Maria" from Sound of Music:
How do you solve a problem like Maria?
How do you catch a cloud and pin it down?
How do you find a word that means Maria?
A flibbertijibbet! A will-o'-the wisp! A clown!
Many a thing you know you'd like to tell her
Many a thing she ought to understand
But how do you make her stay
And listen to all you say
How do you keep a wave upon the sand
So be content, my beautiful daughter. The Lord has great things for you, because you have chosen wisdom from above. I trust that the light shining in you will sustain you and guide you.

Oh, how do you solve a problem like Maria?
How do you hold a moonbeam in your hand?
My favorite pics from past posts:

Jesse IS a beautiful woman. I hope her birthday today is memorable in every sense of the word.

I'd have taken today off, were I she. ;-)

Buck,
Thanks, she is beautiful. She is leaving on her road trip after work - and taking the next week off. I hope to get some good stories and pics out of her when she gets home.

Each of my sons has a song I sang to them as little boys. That song, the one you sang about Jesse is my Ben's song ! It was not until years later did he learn the true words. I would change the line to match whatever grade he was in...amazing.

How do you love a blessing like a Benjamin? How do you catch cloud and pin it down? What are the words of blessing for a Benjamin? Mr. Independent, a solar panel installer, a generous soul. Many a times you know you'd like to ...

But, how do you make him stay, and listen to all you say, How do you pin a wave upon the sand? Oh, how do you love a blessing like a Benjamin? How do you hold a moonbeam in your hand?

Great minds think alike !

Joyce,
That was great! I'm sure it made Ben feel very loved to have a song sung just for him.
