More Painted Ladies

As I wrote last week, the Painted Ladies painted hollyhocks. We all painted from the same photo, but chose different colors of flowers. Here is the four paintings that we did. We don't always paint the same painting, but it is fun and interesting to see the different styles. Many times we cut a photo in to fours and then each choose a section to paint - those are a lot of fun. Yesterday, we chose a very simple photo of a house, and each painted it. You would think that there would not have been much difference in the paintings, but there was. My friend, Barb, took this photo and emailed it to me since I forgot my camera. Here is a photo taken of yesterday's paintings. We were one Painted Lady short of our usual quad, which is not the same as being one maraca short of a mariachi band.

my friend in Las Vegas is retired and invited friends over to view her hollyhocks in full bloom this year calling it, "Wine and Hollyhocks." Some asked just how she was going to cook or prepare the hollyhocks. Having lived with Mr. Literal for years now, I am afraid I might have asked the same question.

Joyce,
It's the same around here. We don't cut anyone much slack. Anyone is fair game.
