Last night Jesse was the live model at the art center. She was suppose to dress sort of Italian. At first the lighting was all wrong. We took several photos with the bright lights on, but I found a lamp and we made some adjustments. There was a photographer there who had a new camera she wanted to try. Her photos were very nice. She sent Jesse some of her photos, which I will try to steal and share later. In the meantime, I took these with my little point-and-shoot camera. I also used Jesse's fancier camera, but once again, I will have to steal those photos later. There were three painters there and we all did a bit of painting after deciding on just the right pose - one that would let Jesse be relaxed. I used my pastels since they are fast and easy ( a bit dirty as well). This is in no way finished. You can see how I work - I block in color - kind of fast and furious. Then I start adding details. Using the photographs that we took, I will finish this later - when I can go into my right brain and concentrate. With the lights on dim last night, I was having trouble seeing my colors. It was all fun and games.

I can't wait to see the finished product! The Lord has blessed you and Toby with such a beautiful daughter. :-)
Light is EVERYTHING in photography, innit? The very last pic looks for all the world like a Dutch Master's painting.
And Jess is lovely. As ever.
Dale, Thanks. Blessed is the right word.
Buck, light is everything in painting too. I agree on the Master's thang. That is what the photographer said too.
Such a beautiful daughter. I look forward to seeing the finished painting!
Again, the Taos House is amazingly beautiful. Gene loves it, too.
