Christmas Romance

Someone should probably call 911. I think I may have over dosed on cheesy, romantic Christmas TV shows. My brain is fried. It's amazing that they make those silly shows. It is even more amazing that I just watched several. It is always nice to think that someone is going to fall in love with someone else who has little to no personality - all in a few days. Still, I love those silly romances. I may have had too much popcorn. When all is said and done, I feel a little sick to my stomach.

Heh. I would, too. Speaking of cheesy romances... While it ain't Christmas-themed, I found myself watching "Under the Tuscan Sun" this weekend on one of the wimmen-channels. I can't believe (a) I really did that and (b) I told you I did that. The end is nigh, I'd better give some thought to repenting.

OMG, Buck, watching a chick flick without a chick is, hmm, well, worrisome. Although, Diane Lane is one beautiful woman and the thought of buying a villa in Italy is appealing. I would think you would like "A Good Year" with Russel Crowe - similar story from a man's point a view and in France rather than Italy. I like it much better than "Under the Tuscan Sun." Dang, pretty soon we will be exchanging recipes from the Food Network.

The WORST Christmas romance related thing has to be a song that Pete and I heard in Dallas a few weekends ago. It's called "Another Auld Lange Syne" and it includes such dazzling lyrics as "Met my ex lover in the grocery store" and "bought a six pack and drank it in her car." Seriously, hurl worthy.

Mrs. G,
You are talking about the late, great Dan Fogelberg - one of my favorites. I never thought of that song as a Christmas song, though. That song always makes me cry :)

I might have liked it better had it not been in the midst of Christmas songs that were more...uplifting...shall we say? And now I feel like I insulted your homemade grape jelly or something along those lines! ;)

Mrs. G, you made me laugh. I chalked it up to the fact that you are of a younger generation with different tastes in music. I had never thought of the song as you did - kind of an eye opener.
