Phone or Gun

We often worry about Jesse when she is out bicycling the back roads by herself or traveling back and forth to WF. And you know that we all three took the conceal/carry course recently. Toby has been researching small pistols since then wanting to purchase something for Jesse.

Conversation with Jesse:

Jes: Dad, will you buy me a smart phone for my birthday?
Dad: I thought you wanted a gun.
Jes: Well (pause) if I had a phone and I ran into trouble, I could just call you, and you could come shoot them.

Heh. Gotta like the logic there. ;-)

To paraphrase a common gunnie saying: When seconds count, your dad is minutes away...

Buck,
Funny how we can justify what we want - she gets that from her dad.

Christina,
That is true. Having a gun would give me a bit of peace of mind, but she would get more use from a phone than a gun. On the other hand...

I'd have said both.

Hard choice. Although, I always figure that I would end up being the one shot with the gun no matter what training I had.
