35th Wedding Anniversary

As promised, here are my wedding photos from 1977.  Today is the big 35th wedding anniversary.  In the first set of photos, you can see Dad and I getting weepy and then the giggles before we started down the aisle.  That is Brad Seymore escorting Toby's mom and Steve Gorsich with my mom.
I've mentioned this before, but my preacher, John the Baptist Lewis, did a "do ya, do ya/ Yeah, Yeah" ceremony then we went to the party, which was quite the party.  In this photo you have our friend, T.Z Wright who sang "The Wedding Song."  In the last photo is my photographer, Ron Burnham.
Here we are headed into the Motherlode Saloon.  Mom and Dad look especially debonair with top hat - I still have that hat.  The little girl is Layle Sneed.  I love the first photo with Pokey in the back of Rik Gill's truck - that dog and truck are infamous. In the bottom two photos is Tony Simmion who owned the package liquor store and at one time owned the Motherlode - back when it was "Tony's."  But the "Tony's" was actually his father's  who owned the bar back in the 40-50's and had quite the gambling establishment.
Then the dancing began to "Faded Love" which was my Dad's choice :) In the bottom left, my dad, the preacher and TZ hamming it up.  There was lots of dancing. Top photo is Steve Gorsich dancing with Kim Hall Moser and Rudi dancing with Sandra.  Top Right is Craig &Janetta and Steve Heglund & Susan, his first wife. Middle left is my cousin Patti and Brad Seymore. Middle right Julie Van Sant & John the Baptist.  Bottom left is Susie and Billy Addison.  Bottom right is the Sampsons dancing and Joy Whitt Roese with the Community House guy.  These are crowd shots. Top right is Bill and Annette Gill with Martha Stephens.  Bottom right is Nat Pocrandt, Beje Bohanon, the Dumphy's (sp?) and my dog, Randy.
More crowd shots: in the top right is my dog again, and Linda Miller sitting with Mary Wallace.  In the middle left, the kids are the Sneed's kids. Middle right is Toby's brother-in-law and his sister and their mom. I cannot remember who the bottom left is - anyone?  Bottom right is the Millers, the Addisons and Mary Wallace.

Enjoy the blast from the past photos.  Toby took the day off to spend with me.

Happy Anniversary. Thirty-five years together is quite the accomplishment in this day and age. Congratulations to you both, Lou.

The reception was the party of the year - maybe several years.

Hmm, 1977, I was 23 years old, had a 32 inch waist, women couldn't keep their hands off of me, and I could bump my rump at the disco/steak house with the best of them.

Today, well today, my dog tolerates me, and I don't bump my rump unless it is the fridge door as I'm bending over to grab a diet beer.

Hrrmph... Anyway, happy anniversary! It sure looks like a swell wedding!
