Nice January Weekend

It has been a beautiful weekend for mid-January here in OK. We did go to WF on Saturday and saw the moms.  We also went up to the college to see some pottery that Jesse had on display at the art school gallery.  She had wanted us to come to the gallery opening Friday night, but we couldn't make it.  We thought it was a show for other students and visiting artist - even Jesse did not know that she was going to have something in the show.  She is required to be there, though. As it turns out, a special new scholarship was given - the first - from a family who recently lost their daughter in a car accident.  Jesse was presented the scholarship and pictures were taken with the family, etc. The art department made a big to-do over the scholarship and Jesse. It was all a big surprise to her, but a great honor.  And we missed it!  I think I will give my phone number to her art professor friend so that he can let us know next time. It goes without saying that I am very proud of Jesse. It is nice that the art profs know how special she is, too. Dang, I hate it when we miss something like that!  Also, I feel for the family who lost their daughter.

We got home before dark and set up some targets for a bit of practice shooting. Toby had put a scope on Jesse's rifle and wanted to sight-in the scope and play with it some.  He said he had been wanting to try shooting with a scope, and he wanted it to be on something easy and cheap to shoot. While he worked on the scope with her rifle, Jesse and I shot her handgun.  When we checked our shots, mine were pretty good. I was surprised.  Jesse's shots were more consistent than mine, but a bit off - what she called "high and tight."  Jes and I also shot the rifle with the scope.  We had just gone down to look at her shots and come walking back up the hill. I was out of breath when it was my turn to shoot the rifle. Have you ever tried to hold a gun still, focus the cross-hairs, and squeeze the trigger while out of breath and breathing heavy. It took me forever to shoot a few rounds. The good news is that I did hit the target and even the

Today has been a bit lazy. We got the report that  Bo and GBN2 are on the mend. Hopefully Mr. T will not get sick.  Jesse has another day with us before going back to school since MLK Day is tomorrow. January is flying by.

That is nice scholarship, and must be a blessing for the parents to award it. Maybe she can craft something special for them.

Thanks, Jo. I have a new photo of Mr. T - he is smiling now and not just those gas grins. He is quite the charmer.
