Norway Thru Toby's Eyes

You may remember several years ago that Toby and I were in Scotland a couple of weeks before Jesse joined us. I thought it was interesting that Jesse took pictures of the same scenes that I had taken pictures of earlier.  Maybe as artists, we have a similar eye for things. I could write a whole post on some of those similarities, but this post is on Toby and his differences.

As you probably know, Toby spent a week in Norway. Part of that time was in traveling to and fro with only a few  workdays in Norway (part of the reason that I did not get to go with him).  Since the days are short in Norway this time of year, he did not get much chance to take pictures with the camera I sent.  In fact, he did not get to do any real tourist thangs. Mostly he worked.  One day, though, he did get out and about - walking to a meeting with bankers. He took a few photos on his way. I think he takes photos of things he thinks I would like.  He took some photos to show me the architecture.
Some good.
not so good, but interesting.
He went by a park and took a few pics.
I had to ask him why he took some pics.
His answers:Scissor trusses.
Sailboat, but the pole got in the way, the top of the pole was interesting.  Churches are always interesting. He is interested in bicycles - saying that even in winter the people rode their bicycles. And trash trucks. Once a trash man; always a trash man.
Sailboats and
ships
Harbor and birds.
and more birds another bird. and a statue of birds.
These photos crack me up. I told him they were definitely blog fodder.

I like the pictures, a lot. Toby's photos show the common, the ordinary, the way the people who live there no doubt see their surroundings. Nothing fancy but good nevertheless. The pictures spoke to me. That's a good thing, right?

And what Chris said.

Stavanger. Anyplace there is drilling, Halliburton is nearby.

I like the photos because they say, "I didn't have much time, but I was thinking you would like this..." The scissor trusses and trash truck are all Toby.
