The Firsts

It is kind of cool that today is April 1st and a Monday.  It is a day for starting something new. Jesse talked us into doing a 30 day diet called The Whole 30. Basically, it is a Paleo-based diet of eating lots of veggies, fruits, and meats, but  no sugars or fake sugars or breads or wheats, or legumes or dairy. You do this for 30 days - sort of a cleansing thang. If I talk like I know what I am saying, I don't. I do know that not having creme in my coffee is going to be hard on me this month. Instead, I have bought coconut milk - what is the world coming to?

This morning I got a text from Jesse telling me to take a photo of myself, weigh, and measure. I replied, "naked?"  She texted back that we would be putting this on FB. I guess I'll weigh and measure naked and then take a photo with clothes. sigh.

Saturday was a beautiful day for springtime in OK. We worked in the yard a bit, and then went for a bicycle ride. Toby rides throughout the year, but I'm a fair-weather rider. Yesterday was fair weather and the first time I have ridden since last fall.  It was a good ride.

Sunday after church, we did some family time. Toby and I drove over to WF to see his mom and sisters. We went by to see my brother for a bit, but my mom was off with her girl friends. It was another beautiful spring day. I hope we have a few more of those before it gets hot.

I still do not have my laptop back, and I am seriously missing it.

What Chris said about yer diet.

Yesterday was beautiful here on THPoNM, too. I spent a LOT o' quality time on the verandah, drinkin' beer, smokin' cigars (plural), and tellin' war stories with a new neighbor who's been in the AF for 14 years. It was a GOOD day.

I bought a new scale as the old one seemed to have broken, as it was reading a different weight every time you stepped on it. I cleaned it up, but there wasn't anything obvious. So NEW scale ! woo-hoo!

I measure myself every monday: 4 pounds gain in one week... Well shoot, I was looking for 2 pounds loss - I may need another scale...
This one lies!

I hear you on the scale thang. Mine are worse than the weatherman - they just never seem right.
